Their 0.75 oz DCF Solplex has zero damage, not even pinholes, after countless nights of hail, brutal wind and sideways rain over five years.

positivedurable

Using their spruce Solplex on the CDT and calls it probably their favorite piece of gear: 17 oz, five-minute setup and it has withstood every kind of weather the CDT has thrown at it.

positivelighteasy setupweatherproof

Owns both a Solplex and a Duplex; the Solplex rolls down to football size and has good head and foot room but is pretty tight on the sides, and the back pole setup is annoying.

mixedpacks small

The Solplex's 30-inch width has not felt too tight for them because it makes up space at the head and foot ends, and they have seen less condensation than some reviews describe.

positive

Has happily used their 0.74 oz Cuben Solplex as their only shelter for nine years with no leaks or holes; small inside and not the most stable in extreme weather, but it packs small and pitches anywhere.

positivedurablepacks small

Owns a Solplex for solo trips and is very happy with it; leaving the mesh unzipped at the top helps a lot with condensation, and guying the end lines higher adds head and foot room.

positive

Owns both the Solplex and an X-Mid 1; they used the X-Mid once and it has stayed packed ever since, while they love their Solplex.

positive

Their heavily used Solplex, now passed on to their son, has so many DCF tape mends around the tie-outs that they wonder what original fabric is left; the design remains great and it is easy to repair.

mixeddurability issues

Used their 0.51 Solplex for 1,500 AT miles and a year of California trips with no rips or punctures; at 6 ft on an XLite the quilt footbox would scrape the wall and absorb condensation, but they are super happy with it.

positivedurablecondensation

Their Solplex is 10 years old and still handles insane storms, rain, wind and hail; has had flowing water around the floor without it coming in.

positiveweatherproofdurable

Used a Zpacks Solplex on a PCT southbound thru-hike and has mixed feelings: at about 17 oz it was great in the PCT's mostly excellent weather, but in any foul weather it has to be pitched perfectly.

mixedlight

Uses a Zpacks Solplex for solo trips in the Northwest and has always made it work in adverse conditions; it has kept them dry through some pretty good storms.
