Has used Alpine Carbon Cork, Distance Carbon FLZ and Distance Carbon poles and likes the FLZ best, but one snapped at the button lock about 1,100 miles into the PCT; Black Diamond's warranty is generous.

Has used Distance Carbon FLZ poles for about three years and is super happy; the newer version with blue stripes is much stiffer inside than the previous one, which flexed a little.
Uses their BD Distance Carbon FLZ, without being careful, for heavy hiking on rocky, bouldery terrain and for pitching a trekking-pole tent with no issues; they feel bombproof.
Broke an FLZ carbon pole outside the two-year warranty; Black Diamond offered a replacement or a 40% coupon and they took the replacement.
